Spymac has updated the information provided in the email sent out to Spymac members over the last week. To allow Spymac to provide better service to active accounts, members will now be required to log in at least once every 30 days to keep their accounts active. (Using Spymac POP email access does not count as logging in.) Spymac will no longer be sending out emails every 4 weeks for account confirmation.

Office 2004 for Mac 11.1.1 Update Improves Stability -- Microsoft has released an update to the English and Japanese versions of Microsoft Office 2004 (French, German, Italian, and Swedish versions still to come). All Office programs gain improved display of inserted PICT images and correct importing of black-and-white scans from Xerox scanners. In addition, Excel 2004 features improved performance when calculating array formulas that include a user-defined function, PowerPoint 2004 better handles opening presentations with invalid font information, and there's a fix that could cause Office 2004 programs to freeze when users with Adobe Acrobat opened documents containing forms created in Visual Basic for Applications. 1) You need to register to see just about anything

2) Worse: From a quick glance, most of the feature writing, editorials, columns, etc now requires a *paid* subscription. They want $14.95/month for access to this. Even if you already subscribe to the print edition, they want you to pony up an extra $6.95 a month for full access to the web site.
