High Growth Expected for Safety PLCs &

High Growth Expected for Safety PLCs &
Safety Bus/Networks
04/14/2005 04:00 AM
There are concerns about the reliability and safety in the use of safety buses/networks for machine automatic safeguarding, particularly when safety and non-safety data is handled by the same bus/network. Nevertheless usage is expected to grow significantly over the forecast period, as the use of safety PLCs grows and reliability of operations with safety buses/networks becomes proven. Usage is particularly attractive when machines and controls become more complex (i.e., for example, requiring many emergency stops and/or safety gate switches with multiple actuators). Ace Operator enables live interactions between company representatives and customers from the company Web site. It allows customers to contact live agents at the click of a button, engage in interactive conversation, and exchange information using multi-media content. It also allows companies to monitor visitors to their Web site and initiate a conversation. It is an excellent tool for low-cost pre-sales support and any kind of customer services over the Web.
Changes:
The chat screens have been translated to the Dutch language in addition to English, French, German, and Spanish. The "Do Not Disturb" feature has been enhanced to make it server-aware. This improves call handling and results in less Internet traffic. Ace Operator can now redirect users to an "All Operators Are Busy" page. New parameters have been added to enable/disable users from sending Web pages/Buzz. A number of translations-related bugs have been fixed.

T-Mobile has partnered with Metronet on roaming since 2002. Metronet is the fourth-largest European WISP, according to their press release. "This deal is therefore bringing us a large step closer to the international objective of providing W-LAN around the entire globe," explains Dr. Georg Pölzl, Managing Director of T-Mobile Austria. T-Mobile Austria charges €7.95 per hour, €15.95 for three hours, or €24.95 for 24 hours. This is enormously higher than the same rates charged by T-Mobile USA. T-Mobile customers can pay via SMS at €1.99 per 15-minute unit, but the service is currently free to subscribers....
