and multimedia studio, will make a stop at Macworld Conference &
Expo San Francisco, which will be held Jan. 11 to 14. Loaded with
2.5GHz dual-processor Power Mac G5s connected to 23-inch Cinema
Displays, a variety of PowerBooks, JVC video cameras, plenty of
digital video and music software and a pile of music gear, the bus
offers free workshops for children and teenagers across the country.
During Macworld, Spin Doctors, John Legend, Fatty Koo and Nitty will
perform in front of the bus, which will be located inside Moscone
Center. The bus will stop by Apple retail stores around the country
throughout the rest of the year.

As you might have noted, my personality has a sharp edge that
occasionally surfaces.
Sometimes I try to hide them with humor but that edgyness can be
tiring. If
it's tiring to me, it's must be tiring you too. So I would
like to apologize
and hope my other sides can make up for some of that.
The good news is that I am getting better. No less than five
years ago, I used
to have a deep angry ridge between my eyebrowse. Now it's not
there any more,
leaving just the extensive network of laughing lines around my
eyes. Hopefully,
my face will resemble the Laughing Buddha by the time I
croak. Yes, I am working
on the bountiful potbelly too.

deliberately obfuscated to protect the code from prying eyes; it was
merely compressed to reduce the size of the script. See this comment for further details. I'd like to apologise to the
maintainers of PHP.net for jumping the gun on this issue.
Incidentally, the unobfuscated code is now available in CVS.

decided to accept an updated offer from Verizon rather than
Qwest, which should end a month and a half standoff between
the three companies as well as shareholders. The new offer is for $7.6
billion in cash and stock - about $1 billion above Verizon's previous
offer. The accepted offer is still lower than the 8.45 billion
offered by Qwest. Why not go with the highest bidder? MCI has
expressed concerns over Qwest's financial strength, including the fact
that it would need to finance the takeover. One finds it hard to see
how any of these mergers will benefit the consumer.

aggregation service), you will notice some spurious updates every now
and then - with no apparent change. This is because I am
experimenting with the RSS feed and Atom feeds of this Wiki, which
will cause some occasional ghost updates with feed readers that do not
respect the Last-Modified -header (like
Bloglines and
Pinseri).

I thought it didn't seem like something you would do without a good
reason.
So I went and listened to your MP3 chat. You did have a good
reason which was
that you tried to do the good thing but things got complicated and
there weren't many
options to choose from. While it's easy to think there must
have been better
alternatives, it's just not the same as being the man on the spot.
Why didn't I say anything when the hounds were at your heels?
I thought you
would just take it all in stride. After all, you must have
expected the hounds
would come after you. Would the hounds listen to opinions
contrary to their
smell of blood? I didn't think so. I thought they would
just look foolish
afterward since they chose to misinterpret what you said and
misunderstand your motives.
Inside me is a scared kid as well but I have been all right ever
since I accepted
death as a side door with a glowing Exit sign over it instead
of a gate to hell
and eternal pain. My apology is for not seeing that you
might think differently
and that you might misinterpret silence as a sign of
abandonment. I will speak
up next time.

07/02/2004 03:08 AMOver the past 2 1/2 weeks while I have been recovering from my
injuries/surgery I have been on heavy pain medications and today while
reading back thru some of my articles I got to thinking that you all
must think I have been drinking while witting.
I think the pain meds would qualify me for being slightly impaired
and if you have been scratching your head that may explain some of it.
My doctor and I have re-worked my pain meds and hopefully the new
prescription I pick up tomorrow will allow me to navigate better and
make more comprehensive sense.
