I'm relying on machine translation here, but it looks like BenQ has finally released the long lusted-after P50—in Italy. The quad-band GSM phone should work in the US just fine, though, so if you really want to get a hold of the device that is a lot like a 'Windows Treo with Wi-Fi' (in my estimation, at least), then you'll probably be able to import one for the better part of $1,000.

We might be wrong about the launch, though, since machines have a hard time parsing language (let alone crazy). We've been talking about this one forev er, though. I don't know what the hold-up is.

My search for mobile satisfaction continues. I haven't been blown away by the Treo 650—not enough to pay $650 for it, at least—and my laptop still seems like best size-to-effectiveness tool I have. But I'm holding out hope for the BenQ P50 Pocket PC Phone, which Expansys just listed for pre-order on their site (for what that's worth) at just $450. It's faster than the Treo, has a better camera (at least higher megapixel), and has built-in Wi-Fi. My holy grail is to be able to update the site from a phone (including image editing, which is the big rub). I might just be able to pull it off with this one—I hope this means its coming soon.
