Steve Jobs at Disney?
12/05/2003 11:20 AMA New York Post article about the state of the Disney boardroom
speculates that Steve Jobs is being considered for a seat on Disney's
board. Citing Hollywood rumor, the article states that "As far as the
entertainment industry and Wall Street would be concerned, the most
welcome second-in-charge and nominal successor to Eisner could be none

Steve Jobs says no to a media center Mac
11/06/2003 12:24 PMThis comes as quite a surprise, but the other day Steve Jobs told a
group of financial analysts that Apple has no plans to sell Macs that
could record TV shows like the new Media Center PCs that have been

is a small audience that likes this." Jobs said there are several
problems with the Media Center concept, in particular the wide
divergence in the way people want to watch television as compared with
how they use a computer. "Generally what they want to view on
television has to do with turning their mind off," he said. Jobs said
that video recording is processor intensive and is best left to a
device that is not doing other things such as playing games or running
spreadsheets. "When I want to record 'The West Wing,' I want to make
damn sure...

08/19/2004 09:44 AMBusinessWeek columnist Alex Salkever has
written an apology to Apple CEO Steve Jobs in
this week's "Byte of the Apple" online column. Salkever wrote in
January that the just introduced "iPod mini was too pricey … and
destined to flop in much the same manner as the ill-fated G3 Cube."
Salkever received an email from Jobs asking that if his assumption of
a mini flop proved incorrect would he publish an apology. "Well, the
mini is not a flop. In fact, it's a hit. I can't deny it. So, here's
my apology, Steve. The mini is no Cube. I was wrong, and you were
right."
