Many automotive dealers have done a good job selling the new customer of a high security equipped car with the premise that the keys to the new purchase can only be made at the dealer!! In most cases high end locksmith facilities can not only duplicate but can program or reprogram the new keys for a owner at a substantially reduced price in comparison to a dealer. Acrux Software on Friday released MailMate v1.0, a Mac OS X utility that helps users view, search and print messages in Apple's Mail application sent to or from contacts in the Address Book. You can use MailMate to find e-mail without need to know what mailbox the message is in; you can sort chronologically or by subject; and you can specify date range and a search phrase or keywords. MailMate can also be used as an archive program to make copies of messages. The release marks the 1.0 version's debut; it was previously available as a beta. MailMate costs US$19.95 to register and requires Mac OS X v10.3.

Broken Numeric Keypad

Broken Numeric Keypad 12/09/2002 04:29 PM

After upgrading to 10.2.2 it seemd that my numeric keypad went bust. Here is the solution to fixing it:

Mouse Keys could be turned on inadvertently if certain programs (most notably games) make use of the Option key. Pressing Option five times in a row is the keyboard shortcut for turning on Mouse Keys. You can avoid this by deselecting the "Allow Universal Access Shortcuts" checkbox at the bottom of the Universal Access pane.

Since I've been using the Powerbook (which I still need to replace with a newer one now that the "speed bump" is official), I've drastically changed my e-mail habits (personal mail, not work mail).
