eBay plans on selling downloadable music through their Web site. Why? Somehow this escapes me. Why in the world would anyone want to go to eBay and buy their offerings when I can go to WalMart and get it for next to nothing? Besides that, what about the fees that eBay requires to run an auction? How are they going to keep the prices reasonable? Personally, I think they need to re-think this whole idea,…

eBay to Enter Digital Music Market? 07/15/2004 10:09 PM

EBay flirts with digital music downloads: It was probably inevitable.

Online auction giant eBay Inc. will allow some customers to buy and sell digital music files as part of a pilot program that could piggyback on the success of Apple Computer Inc.'s iTunes service.

San Jose, Calif.-based eBay said an unspecified number of "preapproved" users could conduct digital music transactions in eBay's new "Digital Downloads" category for the next 180 days. Executives will then determine whether to formally enter the market.

Buy Verizon's Bluetooth Motorola 710 on
eBay, One Month Early
06/14/2004 08:06 AM

v700_ebay.jpg imageSomeone is selling a Motorola V710 on eBay, which is pretty impressive considering they aren't out for at least a month. The scam deal is, you buy it now and this vendor will make sure you're first in line to get the new Verizon flip phone, which is admittedly pretty hot, with Bluetooth (a surprising first on Verizon), MP3 player, a 1.2-megapixel camera with flash, and all sort of other nice fancy features, included BREW-compatible gaming. The bidding is almost up to $800 now, and there's still two days left, at least. But I know some of you can't stand to be the second person to have a phone, so now's your time to shine. (Thanks, Damon!)
