Today we are launching a new feature here at Rebelscum. Anne Neumann has been hard at work preparing for the launch of our Jedi Archives Star Wars collectible database for several months. It has more than 30,000 entries in it already, but we all know there are many more than this to be cataloged. It's not something we can or expect to do ourselves. She will be actively looking for help from you readers to populate and audit the entries such that the data is the very best source available in time. To make room for this link we have moved a few of the quick picks around up top and have added a Jedi Archives link. Soon after you read this we will open up a new forum topic where Anne will moderate discussion of the new Archive. I'd like to wrap up with thanks to Anne. She has put in an amazing amount of time getting this ready.

UPDATED The OpenOffice folks are giving the world peek-plus at version 2.0, which looks pretty snazzy. Of course, the Mac OS X version is still basically missing in action. If you've been following the search engine wars, the latest craze the kids are into these days is providing thumbnails of the web sites that return in search results. Google, however, sticking to the 'less is more' approach, doesn't have this feature. Chu Yeow points us to a Firefox extension that changes all of that.

What is it?
A Mozilla Firefox 0.9+ browser extension that inserts preview images (thumbnails) of web sites, Amazon products and stock charts into the Google search results page.

It sounds like one of those things that would be very slow, but I was suprised to find that the extension doesn't seem to slow the rendering of the search page down at all. It contacts a service on the web to get the thumbnails rather than trying to generate them on the fly. Very cool.

It's called 1UP.com.  Well actually right now is has a different URL - but what it's REALLY gonna be called is 1UP.com.

It's what I've been working on for the past four months.  It's 26 front doors (portals), YASNS and journaling - all in a CONTEXT of gamers.

Gamers and games - people come first.

We ain't done yet, but why don't yah come on in and set a spell.  Take your shoes off.
