06/05/2005 11:58 PMOrganic farming, the systematic conversion of land to certified
practices that ensure food safety and security from the farm to the
table, a comprehensive and fully traceable system, is developing
rapidly throughout the world. According to the International
Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement’s study The World of
Organic Agriculture: Statistics and Emerging Trends 2005, 36 countries
achieved organic mega-country status in 2004, meaning that over 50,000
hectares of certified organic land are currently being cultivated. In
total, over 26 million hectares of land are currently certified
worldwide, generating over $25 billion in revenue in 2003. [PRWEB Jun

Sporting "the industry's highest color count" is JVC's
new single-DIN CD receiver, the "KD-SHX929?." This is quite a headunit
- you do of course get a 32,000+ color organic EL screen, but also the
ability to play movies and still images on it (the screen) while
driving. Furthermore, you can download images onto the unit yourself
by simply burning them to a CD-R; the implied usage, of course, is
autoeroticism. That being said, I think most people will be interested
in this unit because of its ability to playback WMA and MP3 files as
well. It's also got a "muting function" that will automatically mute
when on a hands-free phone call or when your navigation system yells
at you for missing a turn.

30 knots in light rain and moderate winds, and will even be able to
avoid obstacles like buildings, trees, and other drones.

09/26/2004 11:29 AMAP - Organic farming sounds simple no chemical fertilizers,

succeeding at it can be complicated. A recent wave of research at
universities around the country seeks to take some of the guesswork
and financial uncertainty out of the practice.

Kai Organic Cafe, Brighton: the opposite

Kai Organic Cafe, Brighton: the opposite
of a friendly place to relax
07/18/2004 06:55 AMThis morning, a friend and I stopped into a little cafe in Brighton,
UK, called "Kai Organic Cafe." We ordered a couple of coffees --
paying close to $10 for 'em! -- and sat down in the absolutely empty
upstairs area to plug in our laptops, drink our coffee, and get some
work done. Half an hour later, the server came upstairs and told us
off for plugging in, saying that she wasn't sure if the manager would
approve and she didn't want to telephone him on his day off to find
out, and so we'd have to unplug (no word on how the manager could
possibly find out that anyone had used their precious electricity if
it was his day off). We split, and found very good, free, high-speed
WiFi, a friendly staff, and lots of unbegrudged electricity at Riki
Tik, just a few steps away. If you're a visitor to Brighton looking
for a friendly place to relax and plug in, I advise you to do the same
(on the other hand, if you're a visitor to Brighton looking to sit
with your hands folded in your lap while drinking overpriced coffee in
an empty cafe with excruciatingly bad music, well, Kai's is your
place)
