Among the new themes are ones based on Apple's new Mac mini and iPod shuffle hardware, as well as a switcher theme that employs a Java script which allows visitors to choose between two skins. The Peat Group Inc. announced on Wednesday the addition of two new themes and three tutorials to the Keynote resources contained on their KeynoteUser.com Web site. The first new theme, Keynot e Address, is the first of what they call "Cupertino Themes." It mimics the look and feel of the slides Apple CEO Steve Jobs displays during his presentations and comes with 26 custom photo cutouts, 8 stretchable highlight boxes and 18 slides full of extra objects. It sells for US$12.95 and is available for download now.

Canadian developer Keynote Theme Park has released two new themes for Apple's Keynote presentation software. Da Vinci (US$19.95) features 61 transparent versions of the master artist's notebook illustrations that you can use for slide backgrounds in addition to three fonts, including one based on his own handwriting. It was created in 1024 x 768 resolution and includes a Photoshop Action that turns any image into a sepia-toned illustration, making it blend with Da Vinci's work. In addition, the company has released Titanium Jr., a free 800 x 600 resolution theme that comes with five photo cutouts. Finally, Keynote Theme Park has also posted on its Web site a video tutorial that shows how to create photo cutouts for any slide background.

Simeda's CTO Razvan Dragomirescu showed me an interesting bit of software they're working on for PocketPC called 'Pocket Rendezvous,' a port of the Rendezvous easy networking system (commonly used by OSX applications, although it works just fine on PC, too). Using Pocket Rendezvous, users can set up a personal, auto-discoverable web servers for a variety of purposes, such as matchmaking services (think broadcasted business cards or personal ads), private music streaming (be the mysterious F train DJ!), or anything else a crafty developer can build on top of the Rendezvous setup (iTunes, for instance, uses Rendezvous to do the quick-sharing of music libraries). The software isn't released yet, though, and Razvan is looking for a few beta testers to give Pocket Rendezvous a swing before they officially launch the product in June. If you were to email, say razvan.dragomirescu then add one of those squiggly ear looking symbols to simeda.com, you could probably email him and he'd give you the details.

RSS Sync is a Pocket PC 2003 ActiveSync Extension. It synchronizes RSS/RDF news to your PDA - effectively creating an offline newsreader. The sync program updates RSS data at scheduled intervals.
