A Desktop That Will End The Desktop Wars
A Desktop That Will End The Desktop Wars
01/19/2004 01:46 AMThe problem why there are so many battles and wars on the desktop is
primarily due to lack of standards. Most of the desktop models
rolled-out nowadays contain vendor specific implementation that is
usable within the vendor definition. As a result, no interconnection
between dissimilar environments (brandwise) exists. One can see some
interfaces that work while others are only available on one, missing
on another.

Palm drops the Mac
02/12/2004 06:20 PMAccording to
this
article at Brighthand, Palm have announced that Palm OS 6
(codenamed Cobalt) will not support the Mac platform —
...PalmSource isn't developing a Mac version of the Palm Desktop. As
the way the PIM apps work has changed significantly, this means Mac

This is a blow for Mac-owning Palm PDA users, although it's stoked
those old fires suggesting that Apple may be ready to announce a PDA
of it's own.
John Manzione
writes on MacNetv2 —
Apple will deflect this Palm bullet because they will soon introduce a
new product that will do for the handheld market what the iPod has
