The new Turing Xserve Cluster at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is the one of the latest large-scale high speed computing systems to use Apple's Xserve G5. Colsa Corporation is building a new supercomputer, Mach 5, for the U.S. Army. It will be powered by 1,566 dual-processor Apple Xserve servers and have a peak performance capability of 25 Teraflops per second. It is expected to be the second most powerful in the world. The U.S. Army plans to use it for modelling the aerodynamics of hypersonic flight and will cost around $5.8mn. They plan to finish it by the end of Autumn
