Prosoft Engineering announced on Tuesday the release of Pict ure Rescue, a new utility that recovers pictures eliminated from digital camera media through single delete and delete-all functions or because the media was reformatted or corrupt. However, the application can't find lost pictures on XD cards that have been reformatted in Olympus and Fuji digital cameras. Picture Rescue can recover images of all file types -- including JPEG, TIFF, Raw and other formats -- and also sports the ability to find lost AVI, MPEG and MOV video clips. Loaded with 2.5GHz dual-processor Power Mac G5s connected to 23-inch Cinema Displays, a variety of PowerBooks, JVC video cameras, plenty of digital video and music software and a pile of music gear, the bus offers free workshops for children and teenagers across the country. Harman Multimedia on Friday officially debuted the JBL On Stage for iPod and iPod mini, with more details about price and availability. JBL On Stage is a donut-shaped speaker system first introduced at Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston, Mass. in July, designed specifically for the iPod and iPod mini. Featuring four Odyssey transducers, On Stage provides 12 watts of power and touch volume controls. A cradle in the front will accept any iPod or iPod mini, but it will work with other devices using auxiliary input ports in the back. The On Stage can charge up your iPod or iPod mini when not in use, and can also connect to the computer for synchronization. Harman Multimedia said JBL On Stage will be available exclusively at Apple retail stores and the online Apple Store through December for US$199.95.
