01/23/2004 02:35 PMThe trial judge in the Microsoft antitrust case acknowledged Friday

Microsoft Censorship Clause Spreads to
More Products
12/15/2003 12:58 PMIs it possible Microsoft has something to hide about the performance
of its server and developer products? It’s hard to escape that
conclusion when you see how many of its license agreements now contain
language forbidding customers of those products from disclosing
benchmark results.
Time was that SQL Server was the only product Microsoft restricted in
this way, and there it could truthfully argue it was only following
the lead of Oracle and other competitors it the database arena. But a
look at its latest Purchase Use Rights agreement, which governs
license rights for all volume license customers, shows the list of
such products has grown considerably.

A Million Warning Letters
Japanese Version Of The RIAA To Send Out
A Million Warning Letters
04/29/2004 11:56 AMIf you thought that the RIAA was going a little overboard in sending
out warning letters and lawsuits to people, take a look at how the
Japanese version of the organization is handling the matter. They
haven't filed lawsuits yet, but they're
sending out
approximately a million warning letters - soon to be
followed by lawsuits. That's an awful lot of time, effort and money.
Didn't someone think that maybe they'd be better off putting that
effort towards providing customers what they want, rather than trying
to forbid them from listening to music?
