Superior Performance in Tight Spaces
03/19/2005 03:12 AMAmerican Sensor Technologies, Inc. offers a low-cost, high-quality OEM
pressure sensor built to address applications with tight space
restrictions and requirements for high accuracy, trouble-free
operation and long life. Measuring just 0.875 inches in diameter, the
AST4100 Pressure Sensor offers superior performance within the tight
confines of refrigeration systems, test stands and data loggers. The
stainless steel construction of the header and housing makes it ideal
for use in the corrosive environments of gas panels as well as within
energy/water management applications (pump and tank monitoring). The
pressure sensors also serve the automotive industry as integral
components of test equipment and aftermarket pressure regulators.

Germany accidentally let the product manual for the new Nikon D50 leak
on the web for a bit. It's been pulled already, but not before the
pertinent details of the new entry-level DSLR were extracted. Expect
the the D50 to have a 6.1-megapixel sensor, a silver case, and use SD
cards for storage. Now all we need is a price (expect it well under a
grand).
Well, and a picture—this one is a fake.

Making Sense of Programmable Logic
03/06/2004 02:03 AMO'Reilly Network has reposted an article, called
Making
Sense of Programmable Logic, that provides a nice introduction to
programmable logic. It covers the blurring line between hardware and
software and gives an overview that includes CPLDs, FPGAs, VHDL, and
Verilog. Since the article was originally published in 1999, a whole
Open Source hardware design community has evolved that includes the
Free Model Foundry, OpenCores.org, and Open Collector, which provides
release announcements for programmable logic and other Open Source
Hardware.
