Well, that didn't go as planned.

Well, that didn't go as planned. 03/14/2005 05:02 PM
At 3:30pm I decided to take a 2 hour nap so that I'd be able to get back on a normal sleep schedule this evening. However, I was more tired than I realized. Apparently I managed to completely disable the alarm when it went off and I didn't really wake up until 11:30pm. So I did manage to get 8 hours of sleep in but now I'm quite out of sync. Let's see how much I can get caught up...

NYC protests begin smoothly

NYC protests begin smoothly 08/27/2004 01:29 PM
Few expected Wednesday night’s anti-Bush demonstration in New York City to be as big as it was. There had been a call to greet arriving members of the DNC2RNC march, a group of about 90 people who’ve spent the past month walking from Boston to New York, but it was one of many actions planned for Wednesday, and there didn’t seem to be much organizing around it. So activists were thrilled when they arrived at Columbus Circle and saw hundreds of people milling about, chanting and beating drums and getting ready to march through Manhattan.

Update on a previous BoingBoing post: Persian blogger Hossein Derakshan points us to a weblog by Iranian MPs protesting a decision to ban thousands of reformists from next month's Iranian elections.
the good thing is that, apparently, while they have no access to any Iranian TV or Radio, they've embraced weblogs as a great means of a) publishing their announcements and program b) reaching the young Iranians who have long lost their interest in politics whatsoever.
