That's right, The Center for Internet and Society at Stanford University is full of Comment Spam (and that's why I didn't link to them--it's http://cyberlaw.stanford.edu/ if you want to check it yourself). Steve nicely quantifies the problem and notes that for a place full of Internet big shots, they're pretty stupid about this. The Center for Internet and Society at Stanford University is chock-full of serious luminaries, but for people who are so bright and internet-aware, they are shockingly clueless...

Chandler 0.2

Chandler 0.2 01/07/2004 03:15 PM
The 0.2 release, now available, contains more of the Chandler's underlying infrastructure but little in the way of end-user features. We're making progress, even though there's little visible evidence of it. That will start happening after the .3 release around in early 2004. Data Model and Repository: a very flexible...

This week we released Chandler 0.3. The team did a great great job; my hat is off to them. If we were building a house, we'd be at the point of having a foundation, the framing, and the plumbing roughed in. Now on to the interior partitions and finishes. For...

Chandler - OSAF Project

Chandler - OSAF Project 02/05/2005 09:29 PM
Chandler - OSAF Project
htt p://www.osafoundation.org/Chandler_Compelling_Vision.htm

Their product (code-named "Chandler" after the great detective novelist Raymond Chandler,) is a Personal Information Manager (PIM) intended for use in everyday information and communication tasks, such as composing and reading email, managing an appointment calendar and keeping a contact list. Because of the ease with which Chandler users can share information with others, Chandler might be called the first Interpersonal Information Manager. (The product Lotus Agenda has a common designer in Mitch Kapor. Although it was developed in the 1980's and was the first PIM for the IBM PC, Agenda had many advanced features that are still not available in PIMs today. Chandler is the spiritual descendant of Agenda.) Chandler is intended to be an open source personal information manager for email, calendars, contacts, tasks, and general information management, as well as a platform for developing information management applications. It is currently under development and will run on Windows, Mac, and Linux-based PC's. This has been added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

Kentucky Fried Conspiracies

Kentucky Fried Conspiracies 12/02/2003 01:04 AM
I have a theory: Doc Searls is really Colonel Sanders. The resemblence is uncanny, and if you think about it for a second - the chicken king disappeared (allegedly due to death) right about the same time our faithful blogging cohort became better known. Speaking of random folks in Santa Barbara, I'm also a little disappointed that Michael Jackson didn't use a white Ford Bronco the other day. Perhaps its just the Dolmeh talking? Borborygmi can be fun, but only when it really has something to say. UPDATE: I stayed up all night and scoured the Web for a single image to prove my position. Here's what I found, and I'll let the result speak for itself....
