Memorex intros two new travel mice 07/07/2004 11:03 AM

Memorex has announced two new travel mice, the Prism Optical Travel Mouse and the ScrollPro Travel Mouse, which are 50 and 35 percent smaller, respectively, than desktop mice. Both feature optical lasers instead of trackballs and USB connections, with 800 dpi resolution for the Prism Optical (US$19.99) and 400 dpi for the ScrollPro ($14.99). Both will ship in mid-July, but as MacCentral posted this article, Memorex had not yet published information about the Prism Optical Travel Mouse on its Web site.

Diller To Show IAC Is No Travel Company
By Creating IAC's Travel Company
12/22/2004 01:16 AM
Barry Diller has done a good job buying up various online "middleman" companies in a variety of spaces from travel to social networking to dating. However, he says too many people view InterActiveCorp as a travel company and that's making it more difficult to acquire non-travel companies. So, in order to prove that he's not running a travel company... he's going to show them what it means to really run a travel company. That is, he's going to spin off all of IAC's travel properties, including Expedia, Hotwire, TravelNow and Hotels.com, into one company (which he'll still run), and keep all the other properties as IAC. While it may be a good idea to realize the value of those other properties, from the beginning Diller kept talking about the synergies of having all of these properties under the same umbrella. Apparently, those synergies only go so far when the stock price isn't as high as he had hoped.

Think of the world we'd live in if Macs had two-button mice. Would there even be something to troll about on Slashdot?!

I've been looking for the ideal Bluetooth mouse almost as long as I've had my PowerBook G4. Unfortunately this isn't it. I chose the Belkin bluetooth mouse for its price and number of buttons, and because Microsoft's Bluetooth IntelliMouse isn't compatible with Macs.

The Belkin mouse is fairly large, but is very comfortable to use if you're right-handed. If you have a computer with Bluetooth built in, you won't need to use any adapter with it, which makes it more convenient than regular cordless mice.
