02/01/2005 08:46 PMNew survey results clearly show that portable devices such as iPods
and other MP3/CD players are increasingly popular for listening to
text, not music. [PRWEB Jan 27, 2005]

04/01/2005 03:44 AMAs more and more people are discovering the world of online dating,
the online dating landscape has expanded to meet the needs of just
about everyone. Just like real life, everyone is different and one
size usually does not fit all. [PRWEB Apr 1, 2005]

My TrackBacks are
Broken Fixed
03/19/2003 10:25 PMCan someone ping this entry with a TrackBack? Let me know what (if
any) error you get. A few folks have told me that my TB is broken and
I seem to be getting way fewer TrackBacks that normal. I suspect it's
related to my recent upgrade to MT 2.63 but am not sure where to begin
debugging this yet. I will have to search around a bit in the morning
and see if this is some sort of known...

Debian: Where should
wewe should go from
here?
06/17/2005 06:46 PMDebian sarge has finally been released -- now what? If you ask me (and
you didn't, but I'm going to tell you anyway), Debian should have two
overarching priorities for the next release: 1. putting a timed
release cycle in place, so what happened with sarge never happens
again; and 2. keeping the growing family of Debian derivatives united
around a common core -- namely, Debian itself. What's at stake? If we
don't do something about both of these problems, actual and potential,
Debian will be irrelevant by the time etch is out.
Iraqi first strike before the American

Iraqi first strike before the American
first strike?
03/15/2003 04:09 AMABC news is reporting that the US is worried that Iraq may strike
first before we can strike first. I don't wish any harm on the
American troops overseas (or on the poor Iraqi soldiers either, for
that matter), but the logic of the outrage about this escapes me. We
are proclaiming our right to strike preemptively and unilaterally,
where we see a threat that might appear in the future, and we are
actively preparing to strike at Iraq. What logic allows us to be
outraged if Iraq reacts to this threat by striking at the troops
ringing her borders? Incidents like these are why the Europeans have
concluded that Americans have gone off their rockers....

vacuum but physicists in the United States and Russia are just a
little bit faster, actually capturing the light photons and
stopping them in their tracks. The newly-developed technique offers
opportunities to improve optical communication, manage quantum data, a
boon to the future of both communication and digital security.

This article has some weird formatting due to an ad insertion -
just scroll down the page to read it. “…Twenty years ago,
most executives looked down on computers as proletarian tools —
glorified typewriters and calculators — best relegated to low
level employees like secretaries, analysts and technicians. It was the
rare executive who would let his fingers touch a keyboard, much less
incorporate information technology into his strategic thinking. Today,
that has changed…

Browsing the Web? Not Anymore
07/09/2004 04:50 PMI can't remember the last time I actually browsed the Web. You know,
just sort of aimlessly following links in the hopes of encountering
something unique or interesting. (I'm also glad that idea of calling
it "surfing" seems to have become less popular.) Between the few sites
I visit daily to get things done, links that come in via e-mail, and
the various weblogs and news feeds I guess I'm spending enough time in
my browser already. It's a far...
