In case you haven't been checking in with my Slower.net widget (bottom-right corner of the screen), you should be aware that Elliot's been posting some amazing photographs from the Republican Convention in New York City over at Slower.net. His work raises many important questions, including, "What is it with Republicans and hats?" Surely the following photos demonstrate the decisive issues facing our country: Ugly red hat, Why wear one hat when you can wear two, Cowboy up #1, Cowboy up #2, My giant American red hat, My American red hat #2. Maybe the whole red/blue America is really just a question of headwear.

Ireland is green. Green, green, green. Such a cliche, but it really is unbelievably green. Here are some photos I took on a recent trip there:

We spent a little more than a week in southwestern Ireland, mostly in Cork, Kerry, and Clare. We actually drove through Limerick with a man from Nantucket, which if we'd been less jetlagged, we would have thought was more funny than we did. There was traditional Irish music in a pub in Dingle and Ennis. Some amazing porridge (no, really!). It rained a lot, but you got used to it after awhile. I'd never had a Guinness (fo r strength!) before and I figured the place to have one was in Ireland, so I ordered a half one night at a pub. I could only finish half of it...even a quarter of a pint of stout was too much for a amateur imbiber like myself.

Although it's still several months away from when the Original Trilogy Collection toys start to hit the shelves, we've gotten a few photos of the repackaged X-Wing Fighter and TIE Fighter that are showing up over in Hong Kong. Thanks to forum member Vader Fett for the pictures. Plus, this just sent in from reader Johnny B: a proof card of the Stormtrooper (former Hall of Fame version), which recently appeared at Slave1 Japan!
