While the Department of Justice had said that an Oracle takeover of Peoplesoft would harm competition a federal judge has just announced that the DOJ had not proven its case, thus allowing Oracle to keep on trying to take over Peoplesoft. Of course, that doesn't mean they're actually going to get Peoplesoft, as the company has pretty effectively been pushing aside each and every bid. So far, the whole merger attempt has done nothing but slow down both companies.
