The future of war has a face, and its face has a dark future, the dark future of the eyebrows of Loyd. Fun fact: Did you know Loyd Case actually lost the second 'l' of his name to the bullet of a VC sharpshooter? Strange but false.

washingtonpost.com - On May 1, a U.S. Army investigator took the stand in a criminal proceeding in Baghdad against one of the seven military police soldiers charged in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. There was, he said, "absolutely no evidence" that military intelligence officers or the military police chain of command had authorized the abuse to aid interrogations.

photos from last night's Hollywood show

Xeni Jardin: Blogger and photogger Jason DeFillippo joined me at the Kaiju Big Battel event last night, held at the Avalon in Hollywood. I was covering the event for NPR's "Day to Day," and for Wired News (links to those reports to follow as soon as they're online). Jason took some amazing photos, as usual -- I always love his stuff. The monster shots rock, but here I'm posting a snapshot he took (link to fullsize) of me interviewing Kitty Bukkake, the now LA-based blogger who lived a former life in Boston as the Kaiju monster Dino Kang Senior (here's a link to his offspring, Dino Kang Junior). She still works with Kaiju Big Battel, and was filming last night's mayhem for the group. I'm not sure how murdered monsters manage to be reborn as drop-dead-hot blogger babes with washboard abs, but these things do happen in Hollywood.
