A local mobile phone carrier is partnering up with a local cinema operator here in Singapore to sell advertisement... What the hell are they thinking?

The last thing I wanted to be reminded of when going to the movies is that my enjoyment of the movie has been killed by the great service of the mobile phone carrier.

Synergy is a tiny Cocoa application for Mac OS X 10.2 (and later) that puts three buttons to control iTunes in your menubar: previous track, next track, and play/pause. It also provides you with visual feedback about the currently playing tune and allows you to control iTunes via system-wide hot key combinations. These features provide a very fast way of skipping between songs when using the keyboard or the mouse, without having to switch to iTunes or access its Dock menu.
Changes:
A potential "beachball" on quitting iTunes was fixed. The display of the composer in the floater is now optional. A missing space between the artist and composer in the Floater was corrected. The composer is ignored when constructing a track identifier so that art downloaded prior to version 1.8 will continue to be recognized. Optimizations were made to the iTunes communications engine. A blank floater problem which occurred when set to the smallest size was fixed. Minor corrections were made to the localizations.

Changes:
Possible delays when no Internet connection is available were fixed. The "Stopped" notifications sent by iTunes when it quits are suppressed, which fixes spurious Growl notification. Artist/composer ordering in Growl was fixed. A semi-transparent question mark is shown in Floater if no cover art is available. The security for Track Change Items was increased. The composer is shown in Floater. A Traditional Chinese localization was added. Optimizations were made.

Only Took 3 Years For AOL And Road
Runner To Notice Synergy
04/22/2004 01:26 PM
Seems like an awful lot of AOL news today... Despite AOL and Time Warner merging over three years ago, it seems that they just realized that maybe (just maybe) there's some synergy between AOL and Time Warner's Road Runner service. People have been asking for ages when they would work together, and the answer is apparently now (finally). AOL and Road Runner have announced a plan to team up for broadband. In exchange for having AOL offer up Road Runner connections, Time Warner will be offering a channel of AOL content on their website - which should interest about three or four people.

Summit™ January 27th 2005 in Orlando

John C. Beck, President of North Star Leadership Group, Senior Research Fellow at University of Southern California’s Annenberg Center for the Digital Future, and a Senior Advisor at the Monitor Group, will keynote the international G.A.M.E.S. Synergy Summit™ to be held Wednesday-Friday, January 26th-28th, 2005 in Orlando. Dr. Beck researched and co-authored “Got Game: How the Gamer Generation is Reshaping Business Forever” (Harvard Business School Press, Fall 2004). He will share insights about the strengths, abilities, attitudes and learning styles of the under-34 gamer generation, distinctly different from the baby boomers, and how enterprises across all disciplines can adapt to encourage their best performance. An acronym for Government, Academic, Military, Entertainment and Simulation, the G.A.M.E.S. Synergy Summit™ brings together leaders from each of these convergent sectors to discover new ways that interactive game-based technologies can address a broad range of beneficial, non-entertainment applications.
