Essentially, this is a wireless,
Bluetooth version of the wired Monster Gecko PistolMouse. By removing the Bluetooth guts of a
Targus mouse, BT has been able to meld the shooting magic of pistol
mice with the wireless magic of Bluetooth, creating, if you will, a
fusion of magic. I love technology.

Review: Belkin Bluetooth mouse
09/23/2004 09:57 PMI've been looking for the ideal Bluetooth mouse almost as long as I've
had my PowerBook G4. Unfortunately this isn't it. I chose the
Belkin bluetooth
mouse for its price and number of buttons, and because Microsoft's
Bluetooth IntelliMouse isn't compatible with Macs.
The Belkin mouse is fairly large, but is very comfortable to use if
you're right-handed. If you have a computer with Bluetooth built in,
you won't need to use any adapter with it, which makes it more
convenient than regular cordless mice.

Bluetooth Wireless Mouse Recommendation

12/17/2004 06:32 PMOkay, I'm really digging this full-szied bluetooth keyboard for my
Powerbook. So much so, that I'm tempted to buy a second one to leave
at work. But having a larger keyboard keeps my hands uncomfortably far
from the touch pad. Anyone got a recommendation for a bluetooth mouse
that has more than one button (sorry, Apple) and works well with a
Powerbook? I'll probably use it left-handed about half the time, so
I'd prefer one that is not shaped for...

So, try a donut, Jessica! From the look of his desk, Choire always

High Class iPod Cases
08/13/2004 09:06 AM
CITY Magazine has a spread featuring a few
high-end iPod cases - you know, the kind that sometimes cost as much
as the iPod itself. Some of the cases, from the likes of Louis
Vuitton, Dior Homme, and Gucci, are okay, if surprisingly plain, but
Kate Spade's fuchsia mock-crocodile leather case with brass accents
and Paul Smith's colorful stripes look like a lot more fun - and are
almost affordable, at $55 and $115 each (I said almost).

Scrollwheel, Bluetooth Brings Apple
Firmly Into 2001
06/25/2004 08:53 AM
MacMice has updated their 'The Mouse' -- you know,
the one that adds a right click and a scrollwheel to an Applesque
mouse -- now incorporating Bluetooth, to come up with The Mouse BT.
But they're not late to market, no. Instead, they took their
time to "eliminate many of the annoying shortcomings that are present
in earlier BT mice."
You know, I actually saw one of these The Mouses the other day in
person (a corded one, not the Bluetooth model) and they really look a
lot better in person than they do on their website. Something about
their photos makes the acrylic shell look rough, but it really isn't
when you actually see it.

Tunewear intros Prie series of iPod mini
cases
07/16/2004 08:44 AMJapanese company Tunewear has announced its
Prie line of cases for the iPod mini. They come in four colors -- key
lime, ruby pink, canvas gray and jet black -- with a choice of two
front panel designs, Open Face or Classic Face. The former holds the
iPod mini in place and features a flap that opens to reveal the front
of the MP3 player. The latter covers its entire body, except for click
wheel and control access, and covers its LCD screen with clear vinyl.
Both front panel designs still allow access to the headphone jack and
dock connector. In addition, you have two strap style choices, one
that includes a long strap and a short one and another that offers the
long strap and a built-in loop on the back of the case for attaching
to your belt or bag. No pricing was offered by Tunewear.
Carbon Fiber Asus V6V
Carbon Fiber Asus V6V
06/17/2005 06:11 PM
There's a rule in the tech
industry—making something out of carbon fiber makes it cooler. I
don't care if it's a toilet plunger or a car hood, carbon fiber just
sounds more interesting than "shiny plastic." Therefore, we aren't
surprised to see that Asus is giving it a go in the carbon fiber
notebook niche.
A few other folks have gone this route, but Asus seems to have hit
a sweet spot. The V6V isn't too ostentatious. It's got a nice Pentium
M-based chipset, and it's acceptably light—a 15" screen at 5.5
pounds—to warrant the carbon fiber.

08/02/2004 08:31 AM
As we talked
about this weekend, Rio has announced at least one new player, an
update to the Rio Nitrus called the 'Rio Carbon,' a 5GB hard
disk-based MP3 player with a killer 20-hour battery life (if that's
the sort of thing that slays you; the iPod mini does about 8 to 10
hours, for comparison). Interestingly, the Carbon also has support for
Microsoft's new DRM platform, Janus; to my knowledge it's the first
player that has.
The Rio Carbon should be available late August and will retail for
$250. Now where's the Rio Chroma announcement?
