Digifusion pPVR, Not the First, But
Don't Tell Them That

fusiondigitec_pPVR.jpg imageAlthough they're billing it as the "World's First Portable Personal Video Recorder," unless they're doing something that I don't know about, the Digifusion pPVR is hardly the first portable media player that can encode video without a PC. Perhaps it interfaces into some sort of program directory -- all the press release mentions is that it "incorporates timer for recordings." A clock! Welcome to the future. Still, for what looks like a wholly decent personal media player, with a 20GB hard drive and MPEG2 and MPEG4 playback, they must be intending to market it to people that haven't been paying attention to the gadget scene for the last, I don't know, maybe three years?
