VertiGo and Cablebuddy Review
04/06/2005 02:46 PMWaterfield Bags launched a SleeveCase designed specifically for the
Mac Mini within weeks of the official Apple announcement. In its
default configuration as I received it, the SleeveCase is merely what
it claims to be, a case into which a Mac Mini will fit. However,
Waterfield offers a configuration with a detachable shoulder strap.

10/31/2003 11:40 AMThe next version of the Pocket PC Phone, known as the XDA II or the
MDA II depending on which carrier is offering it, still isn't
available here, but it is out in the United Arab Emirates, where it's
sold as the "i mate." Pocket PC Dubai has an early review of the
phone, which runs on the 2003 version of Pocket PC Phone Phone Edition
operating system, has 128MB of RAM, a 400MHz processor, an SDIO
expansion slot (so you can add WiFi), a 65,000 color display,
Bluetooth, and a built-in digital camera. Read [Via Pocket PC

Sony HMP-A1 VAIO Video Pocket Review
Sony HMP-A1 VAIO Video Pocket Review
07/12/2004 10:34 AM
I should warn you: I'm sort of
lukewarm on portable video players altogether. I don't commute to
work, and when I did, there was enough jostling and train swapping to
make anything that required focused attention, like reading books or
watching video, a fractured and annoying experience. But still, there
is an opportunity for a video player like the HMP-A1 to be useful -- I
just don't think this would be the one I would buy.

Sony VAIO Pocket Review, iPod Comparison
Sony VAIO Pocket Review, iPod Comparison
06/09/2004 09:10 AM
If you want to stumble through the Babelfish
translation, AV Watch Japan has a review of the Sony VAIO Pocket, the
hard disk-based music player that's getting the most buzz as Sony's
attempt to create an iPod-killer. Among other things, they compare
sizes (!), and really that battery nodule on the back of the VAIO
Pocket does it a disservice in pictures -- it's not nearly as big as
it seems. Of course, the chink in the VAIO Pocket's armor is its
inability to play any format but Sony's proprietary ATRAC3, meaning
every song you want to copy to the VAIO Pocket has to be converted.
20GB of conversion is going to be sucky, but manageable; it's really
just the principle of the thing (even Apple, head up their AAC, lets
the iPod play MP3).

03/23/2005 08:49 PMIn the <a

in&highlight=">second part</a> of our look at some
of the portable gear Seagate are offering currently, we've taken a
look at the company's smaller option for users :
a 5 GB, pocket
hard drive.
<ul>"USB: it's everywhere. Like a plague amongst
motherboard designers, the USB socket has become ubiquitous with the
modern day computer. Asides from devices like printers and mice, USB
devices range from the quirky to the rather useful. Arguably one of
the most useful groups of devices on the market today is the portable
USB drive.
High speed, reliable and small, they've virtually killed the floppy
disk drive giving computer users a better way to store and transfer
their files. In a world of bulging PowerPoint presentations and
growing media libraries, the question of storage on the go is one that
has hit most of us. Perhaps, we've found an
answer."</ul>
After the initial amazement that they could pack in 5 GB's worth of
hard drive into such a small space, we looked deeper into an
exceptionally well designed portable device. For the full review,
follow the link below.

Brighthand review of HP's h4155 wireless
Pocket PC
11/02/2003 03:15 PMBrighthand review of the new iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC from Hewlett
Packard. The h4155 (which has a 400MHz processor, 64MB of RAM, and
both Bluetooth and WiFi built-in) has largely been overshadowed by
some of the other handhelds that have come out recently, like Palm's
Tungsten T3 and Dell's Axim X3i, but if Brighthand's enthusiasm is any
indication, this one is not worth overlooking:They said it couldn't be
done. That creating a pocketable, multimedia-capable handheld with a
magnificent color screen, fast processor and, heaven forbid, two forms
of wireless was an impossibility -- a contradiction of terms, so to
speak. Well, it seems that no one informed HP of this apparent
conundrum. Its new iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC does just that, and it may
well be the best looking device on the market to boot.By the way (and
we know it's pointlessly confusing), but the h4155 is also known as...

iPod mini Review: 8.7 out of 10
03/22/2005 03:43 PMReviewing the second generation iPod mini, CNET editors gave it an 8.7
out of 10 rating, stating The iPod brand has become synonymous
with excellent portable audio players, and the second-generation Apple
iPod mini carries on the tradition with its fashionable, intelligent
design. Apple has made precious few (but all necessary) updates to its
stylish microdrive player, which is a good thing since it was already
a winner. [Mar 21, 2005]

A Fair and Balanced Review of the Mac
Mini
02/05/2005 09:16 PMMac Mini: The
Emperor's New Computer: Attention: Before you rip the living hell
out of this guy, please remember that he went to DeVry. And
he has an MCSE.
The Mini boots up into a stripped-down operating system which Apple
calls OS X, similar to the stripped-down WindowsCE OS found on many
handhelds. The mini OS is going to be a significant hurdle for many
buyers who are used to Windows or have favorite Windows software
packages they need to use. Think of it more as a first computer for
your daughter or niece than as a machine to get any serious work done
and you’ll get the point of the Mini and its target market. It
might also be the perfect computer for grandmothers or autistic
children, for example.

10/30/2003 11:57 PMPC motherboards have always been attractive to robot builders because
of
their low cost compared to specialized embedded controller boards. But
one of the big problems with adapting PC motherboards for use in
mobile
robots is the size. The new Mini-ITX form factor created by VIA
Technologies solves this problem. Mini-ITX boards are just 17cm x 17cm
making them ideal for use in mobile robots. In this review, we provide
our first impressions of the VIA EPIA M10000 Mini-ITX motherboard.
