Groovy Hex Editor v1.3

Groovy Hex Editor v1.3 03/24/2005 10:49 PM
Groovy Hex Editor is a tool for editing binary formats. I've paid particular attention to making it colorful and easy to use and tried to give it a cool looking color scheme (hence the name "groovy" hex editor). It's a fully functional hex editor with many advanced features. You can toggle the display between hex and decimal, and there is a built in inspector that easily lets you see the hex, decimal, and binary equivalents of a group of bytes. Pixar's groovy non-cubicles

Pixar's groovy non-cubicles 03/17/2005 03:55 AM
Xeni Jardin: AICN's Moriarty took a tour of Pixar, and marvels at the nesting habits of wild animators at home in their native environment:
He also led us through the section of the building where the animators actually work. Here’s where the Wonka factory comparison felt strongest. Instead of cubicles, each of the animators has a customized space. (...) A lot of the animators decided early on that they didn’t want cubicles, so instead, Pixar found these groovy little cottages that they bought for them. Walking through the animation department is like walking through a neighborhood for dwarves. Lots of little houses laid out along “streets,” each one with an address on the door.

Groovy 1.0-jsr-01 (Default branch)

Groovy 1.0-jsr-01 (Default branch) 04/06/2005 09:31 PM
Screenshot Groovy is an agile, dynamic language for the JVM which combines many features from languages like Python, Ruby, and Smalltalk and makes them available to Java developers using a Java-like syntax. It is designed to help get things done on the Java platform in a quicker, more concise, and fun way. It can be used as an alternative compiler to javac to generate standard Java bytecode to be used by any Java project or it can be used dynamically as an alternative language, such as for scripting Java objects, templating, or writing unit test cases.
Changes:
This release adds the new JSR parser for standardizing the Groovy scripting language.

Microsoft's Groovy Special Ed Mice

Microsoft's Groovy Special Ed Mice 04/09/2004 03:55 PM
JOEL JOHNSON -- Microsoft has three new special-edition wireless optical mice, designed to appeal to those that find current mouse styling (or good taste) boring. Styles include the 'Groovy,' 'Immersion,' and the 'Night Vision,' but fear not: Microsoft is asking users to vote for future special-edition finishes. Actually, go ahead...

Groovy Social Clubs and Clients

Groovy Social Clubs and Clients 02/10/2004 03:02 AM

As I try to look ahead of the social networking service market, I see following three trends emerging:

  • Specialization - Who's Who in X, Y, and Z.
  • Segregation - Invitation-only
  • Decentralization - Rich clients (i.e. Groovy) supporting multiple social networking services and richer integration with other social tools such as e-mail and IM.

Changes:
This release has bugfixes and a new parser Early Access Preview (as part of the JSR effort). In Classic Groovy, some bad typing problems are fixed, a few error messages are improved for more readability and a safer user experience, there is better exception handling, and binary scripts now have proper executable permissions set.
