From the Prawn of Time 06/08/2004 05:47 AM

Something's rotten at NotCon, and that's a good thing. In this case, the decomposition of a prawn sandwich is used to measure time. Attendees at this eccentric tech conference are enthralled. Roxanne Khamsi reports from London.

billing tool
07/20/2004 12:54 PM
Small Town Software announced on Tuesday the release of Time and Budgets, a new application that integrates with Apple's iCal application to supply time and budgeting functions for projects. The software also works with any calendar program that supports WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning), which means .Mac subscribers can use iCal with the online service to seamlessly input data and generate reports that convert time into dollars and cents that can be compared against a project's budget. Available reports in Time and Budgets include time sheets with visual charts, details about time logged in specific phases and tasks, aggregate workgroup feedback and more. Another option can generate e-mail alerts when projects have reached certain financial goals.

With the temperature suddenly 21° (with a 9° wind chill) in NYC, those who haven't succumbed yet to the flu could well be on the verge, including me. Here's some good information from the CDC, Influenza: The Disease. Of course, the most troubling bit was this, "A person can spread the flu starting one day before he or she feels sick." It might be too late for us all!

General Motors just announced that the stereo in select vehicles released this year will have a feature I've been wishing for for a long time.

The new radios include an auxiliary channel and front mounted auxiliary input jack, so that an iPod or other audio source can be easily plugged in and played through the vehicle audio system.

How beautiful! All you need is an eighth-inch stereo patch cable to run between your dashboard and your iPod, laptop, CD player, DVD player, or whatever.

Now, how do I get my hands on one of those spiffy-looking Chevy HHR's?
