While we anxiously await an official announcement from Hasbro regarding the future of the OTC Jawa Sandcrawler exclusive, we'd like to remind everyone to cast their vote in the current Probe Droid. The latest standings show 70% of the over 2,000 fans polled would indeed pay more than the previously suggested retail price of $33 in order to get the toy this year. It's still unknown if this long awaited vehicle has been picked up by another distributor, but numbers like that have to be reassuring to anyone considering taking the plunge. More news as soon as it's available, vote now before it's too late!

Mick from mousedroid.com writes in to help keep our Australian readers up to date with this story. He says that he found out today that the Jawa Sandcrawler is an open Hasbro Australia item, which explains why Diamond Comics aren't carrying it in Australia. Both major and independent retailers can all order it direct from Hasbro - so far Toys "R" Us and Case Fresh.com have taken it up.

British news site the private universe has posted a story explaining that Hasbro's 2004 Jawa Sandcrawler has been cancelled. Before you knock it off your personal wish lists please bear in mind that its exclusive release has been highlighted by the Star Wars Insider and via several distributors in Europe. For the moment treat it, at worst, as cancelled in the United Kingdom only until we see an official statement.

If you read through to the bottom you will see that it says "Not available in Australia or Japan." Well, that certainly was quick. Yesterday we wrote about the tempo rary restraining order against SpamCop from reporting any spam from OptInRealBig to ISPs other than OptIn's own, and today that temporary restraining order was dissolved, as it appears the lawyers for IronPort/SpamCop made a compelling argument that OptInRealBig wasn't telling the full story. The judge admits that: "The legal issues are more complicated than they originally appeared." The hearing on the case has also been moved up a few days and will be held early next week.

Amazon has a pre-order page for Apple's next revision of OS X, 10.4, or 'Tiger.' While there's no release date, the $35 mail-in rebate shows a 'postmark by' date of May 31st, so I would expect it to arrive reasonable soon before then. There have been rumors that Tiger would be release on April 1st, but who knows.

If you're a Mac user, there's much to recommend Tiger, from the previews, including system-wide search indexing and upgraded versions of many of the bundled programs. Historically, I've found the OS X upgrades to be worth the $130 cost, but you wouldn't hurt anything by waiting for a review (or the first patches).

I've been ranting and raving for a while now on what is becoming known as 'structured blogging', microformats and micro-content.

Lots of attention wi ll be placed upon this next week - as the SuperNova conference will have a workshop on microformats - which is ONE of the ways to implement these notions of 'structured content'.

Broadband Mechanics will have an announcement in this arena - just as soon as we get our marketing language in place.

It's a key componenet to a world moving very quickly. We wanted to make sure that various tools and services can easily 'mesh into' this burgeoning world. We're implemening this code in our own products and all our client's systems - so we thought it would be nice to give it to everyone else - as well.
