T2 2.1.0-beta4 (Default branch)

T2 2.1.0-beta4 (Default branch) 04/14/2005 04:11 AM
T2 is a system development environment. It provides a self-contained distribution build kit based on sources with an up-to-date tool and development toolchain (gcc, glibc, uclibc, dietlibc, X.org, KDE, GNOME, etc.). Its basis is an automatic build system that makes it possible to either update a running system or create a binary distribution that can later be deployed via network or physical media. The system is extremely versatile and makes it possible to create sets of programs for different kinds of systems, from routers to desktops, including different architectures and platforms.
Changes:
The release included support for the SuperH CPU family as well as enhanced AMD64 and x86-64 support. There were also many improvements for cross compiling, including a new embedded target as a solid base for industrial products, and support for squashfs and unionfs. KDE 3.4.0, GNOME 2.10.0, XFCE 4.2.1, and Enlightenment 17 (2005-03-29) were included along with Linux 2.6.11.7. 910 package updates were made.

AmaroK is a step up for Linux audio
players

AmaroK is a step up for Linux audio
players
03/14/2005 04:05 PM
With the release of amaroK 1.2 last month, I finally found the Linux music player I've been wanting. When I moved to Linux full-time about two years ago, the only software that I missed from Windows was a quality audio player. Linux audio players lacked features like cover downloads, smart playlists, or easy burning to CD. Even worse, with a large collection of more than 10,000 tracks, the Linux players generally locked up when I tried to load them all, or at least slowed to an unbearable crawl. AmaroK has all of the basic features of modern Windows audio players, and some features that I haven't seen in any other player.

ratpoison 1.4.0-beta4 (Default branch)

ratpoison 1.4.0-beta4 (Default branch) 04/10/2005 09:50 PM
Ratpoison is a simple window manager with no large library dependencies, no fancy graphics, no window decorations, and no rodent dependence. It is largely modeled after GNU Screen, which has done wonders in the virtual terminal market. All interaction with the window manager is done through keystrokes. ratpoison has a prefix map to minimize the key clobbering that cripples EMACS and other quality pieces of software. All windows are maximized and kept maximized to avoid wasting precious screen space.
Changes:
Several crash bugs have been fixed. The 'meta' command has been improved.
