AMG has announced that its latest sound collection, ExpansionPack For GarageBand, is now shipping. It features 92 instruments -- including two accordions, 14 Hammond organs, two DX7 electric pianos, nine MiniMoogs, seven Wurlitzers and more -- that can be added to GarageBand. A demo of sounds in MP3 format can be downloaded from the AMG Web site, and "in a week or so" the company expects to add five more instruments that ExpansionPack owners can download and add to the set. Pricing is £30 (US$54).

German music software developer Native Instruments on Monday announced the retail release of FM7 Sounds Vol. 2, a collection of sounds designed to work with the company's own FM7 software synthesizer. The collection includes 256 new presets in categories ranging from synth sounds to electric pianos, basses, atmospheres, rhythms, acoustic instruments, sound effects and drum and percussion sounds. FM7 Sounds Vol. 2 costs US$59.90 and can be purchased through authorized retailers or through Native Instruments' own online store.

The factory library will include more than 15GB of samples and uses "Kontakt Script Processor," (KSP) which adds advanced performance effects.
