Apple shares slip in pre-open trading
06/05/2005 11:20 PMApple Computer shares fell 6% to $40.07 in Instinet pre-open trading
following Goldman Sachs statement that it sees evidence to suggest
sequential growth in iPod sales will be lower than what investors have
become accustomed to, according to MarketWatch.
Analyst David Bailey expects Apple's sales to be driven more by a
growth in Macintosh sales. Bailey said: "In contrast to the past few
quarters when Apple showed healthy upside to our and Wall Street iPod
forecasts, our retail and supply chain checks suggest that iPod
shipments are tracking in line with our 5.35 million unit estimate for
the June quarter."
