Samsung Builds World's Biggest OLED TV
01/05/2005 02:07 PMToday's technology announcements typically involve smaller and smaller
components, computers and other gadgets, but Samsung Latest News about
Samsung this week touted the "world's largest" television
based on organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology -- a 21-inch
flat panel display.
While Samsung has addressed common OLED issues such as power and
resolution with an active matrix (AM)-based OLED, analysts emphasized
that the 21-inch screen was merely a demonstration and still a long
way from the consumer market, where traditional liquid crystal display
(LCD) and plasma technology are among the hottest commodities
available.

Supersized PR con
Supersized PR con
06/23/2004 03:54 PMLast year, when I heard that TechCentralStation was a lobbying
group that participated in some shady campaigns disguised as
journalism, I didn't pay it much mind, since beyond simple politics,
it didn't seem to result in a spate of bad articles there. Well, I
guess that time has passed, when I found their
concerted effort to discredit Morgan Spurlock's film Supersize
Me.
Looks like some whacky conservative outfit even tried to replicate
Supersize Me, but with tons of exercise and different choices to
somehow show McDonalds was healthy.
Supersized Me
Supersized Me
05/30/2004 01:51 AMI finally saw Supersize Me and I was blown away. It's kind of like
a jokey, dumbed-down version of the book Fast Food Nation, but really
drives the point home. Last year I cut out some junk food from my diet
("french fry free in 2003" was my personal slogan) and lately I've
been exercising a ton, but not losing any weight. After seeing this
movie, I was reminded why. I've been lazy in the past couple months
and I probably eat fast food of some sort 3-4 times a week.
"Drive-thru no more in 2004" is my new personal slogan.
It's great to hear
the movie is doing well, though I would have guessed that it did
more business already. I hope everyone in America gets a chance to see
it, it'll open your eyes, make you laugh a little, and blow your
mind.
