The vintage Biker Scout is the plastic testament of Lucasfilm’s faultless evolutionary character design. Even though the traditional Stormtrooper armour still stands as a cinematic icon, today’s addition to the Vintage Photo Archive’s uniform, designed for the Endor sequences of Return Of The Jedi, did away with all the impracticalities of the original shell and replaced it with a uniform that could facilitate its wearer with the ability to effectively protect the interests of the Empire. Not only was it practical for mounted travel via speeder bikes (or any other form of transportation), it also offered the one thing the standard armour didn’t: Flexibility. Granted, the cold weather uniform offered the same, but who wants to fight rebels in a hot Ewok infested forest wearing thermal underwear?

We've got another update to our Photo Archives today with a new version of Dark Horse Comics' first Clone Wars graphic novel, this time specially-packaged with 2 figures from Gentle Giant Studios' Bust-Ups line. The Yoda figure is the same previously-released figure, but the Copper-Tinted Chewbacca figure is exclusive to this set. Available only at Borders and Waldenbooks stores, this set is a bit confusing, since Chewbacca is not part of the storyline, but this "spirit version" is a piece no completist can do without.

In what has to be the last of the delays we've seen for the Mastercard exclusive Gentle Giants Darth Vader mini-bust, it looks like the day holders of the Galactic Rewards Mastercards have to wait at least a couple more weeks before they can pony up 7,500 points for a Vader. The often delayed "order date" has been moved again, this time to "mid-November". If you have the card, you can check on the progress of this yourself at galacticrewards.com. Christopher Topin reported in to Theforce.net he saw a Leia Boushh at the Gentle Giant booth at Chicago Wizard World on Friday. He said it will have removable arms, one with a blaster and one with a thermal detonator. No release date or other info was given.

I really can't remember the last time a promotion that I know is supposed to help the Star Wars brand has gone as wrong as the one Lucasfilm is doing with MBNA right now. In what seems like a string of problems, a quick check of the official MBNA Galactic Rewards website will show you, as it now has been for about three weeks, that they are completely and hopeless offline. Never mind that frequent calls to them have now turned to comical as they now are gun-shy of telling callers the next promised date it will be online again. And forget about finding out when they will make the cool exclusive Gentle Giants Vader Mini-Bust available to us as each person you talk to will give you a different date, or no date in some cases. And on top of that, the last time I was able to see the promotion page for this it said they had just 100 of them available, and sometime in December they would go up from 7,500 points to 10,000 points each. I'm taking odds it will be December before they ever get the darn site back online. If you have missed the history on this, you can get up to speed with a quick MBN A search.
