iCompositions has partnered with Bandmateloops to give away another package of free loops for GarageBand, Logic, and Soundtrack. The collection, available exclusively for registered users of iCompositions, consists of 121 loops, bringing iCompositions members 417 free Apple Loops. The collection includes loops from instruments such as the Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Drums and Percussion, various Synths, and Electronic Drums from Bandmateloops' Apple Loops Collections. In addition, iCompositions has also once again partnered with tutorial producer MusicMakingTools to give users three new Quicktime tutorials focusing on Songwriting with GarageBand. The tutorials, taken from MusicMakingTools' Songwriting for GarageBand CD, each look at specific aspect of composing: song topic ideas, a song's melody, and dynamics in a song. In total, the chapters given to iCompositions users from this CD are nearly an hour in length. iCompositions has also made available six other tutorials from MusicMakingTool's Tutorial CDs for Beginners and Pros, featuring an hour and forty minutes of content.

The collection, available exclusively for registered users of iCompositions, consists of 90 drum loops, 19 "single hit" sounds for applications such as sound effects, and 9 "loop layers" for building your own drum loops. Unlike other free loop packages, these loops were recorded live by Drums on Demand?s production professionals instead of being created through software-generated instruments. British developer TuneMedia has released Tune-Up Pack 1, a library of more than 500 music loops offered in Apple Loop format for use in GarageBand. They were recorded in stereo at 44kHz and come in categories that run the gamut from piano groove to synth melody to space bass and more. TuneMedia's Web site features 10 free demo loops that you can download and use, along with a song in MP3 format that was created completely with Tune-Up loops. Tune-Up Pack 1 is US$34.99 and system requirements call for a G3 or better processor running at 700Mhz or faster, 700MB free hard drive space and a copy of GarageBand or any application compatible with the Apple Loop format.

Bandmates Guitar Player -- Electric Guitar includes more than 45 loops that range from "funky wah to classic rock and blues, to hard rock." Bandmates Keyboard Player -- Electric Piano features "a vintage keys collection -- no synthesizers here." Included are 75 "funky riffs and motifs [that] take your rock, funk and jazz to the next level." The new CDs were created by Lukecage, AMG's "resident hip hop genius" who previously created the "Ultramagnetic Beats" collection. The two new discs are "9mm Beats" and "Urban Search & Rescue." 9mm Beats includes 360 Apple Loops with "a strong gangsta flava" while Urban Search & Rescue contains 350 Apple Loops with a "70s R&B feel."
