Adobe has released a Ph otoshop CS update that fixes two bugs which occur when the application is used in Mac OS X v.10.2.4 or higher on Macs with multiple processors. One problem caused image corruption when rotating bitmap images while the other issued a program error when using the Magic Wand tool. Both are now fixed with this update, which is a free download from the Adobe Web site for registered users (an Adobe ID is required). The company notes that it won't have an effect on Macs with configurations other than the one cited.

Last summer I was talking about iChat in 10.4 supporting Jabber. Today a commenter confirmed that iChat in Tiger is supporting Jabber. Whee. Very cool. Thanks Laird! Hopefully it'll support the transport agents too so MSN, Yahoo and AIM (etc) can work in iChat via an appropriate Jabber server. If you didn't see it already, Tuesday Apple announced that OS X will be released on April 29th. Amazon still has the $35 off rebate thing; making the price $95....

Version 5.6.102 of the Retrospect driver adds support for several new EZQuest DVD-RW/CD-RW and CD-RW drives, as well as Iomega's 35GB and 90GB FireWire REV removable external drives. Now I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong, but do any of the current movie download services offer their wares in DivX format? Because if not, where exactly does Samsung, when detailing its plans to upgrade some of its DVD player firmware to support DivX, intend its customers to get the files that "can be downloaded over high-speed lines in a relatively short time?" Surely not the internet. That would be tantamount to murdering film carpenters' entire families.

That aside, DivX firmware updates for Samsung players from the company itself is plus plus. Now if they'd throw in a little XviD flavor we could stream the movies we've already (legally, for honest) ripped. Update: Oh, hey, look at the image that I put up myself. I'm mostly functional!
