President of Video Game Company
Engineers Live HFStival Festival
Broadcast with 68,000 in Attendance
05/31/2004 01:55 PM
On a clear, hot day at RFK stadium in Washington, D.C., celebrated, Grammy nominated, recording engineer Bill Mueller returned to his first love – live broadcast engineering. Although president and owner of Vision Videogames of Towson Maryland, Mueller still manages to return to his roots by working directly in the live recording industry several times a year. He is no stranger to the HFStival having engineered it five times in the last six years. So far, this year’s additions to Mueller’s extensive rock resume include The Offspring, Yellowcard, Violent Femmes, New Found Glory, P.O.D., Voodoo Blue, and O.A.R. His other audio engineering credits include two Tibetan Freedom Concerts, Earth Day celebrations, Live from the House of Blues and over one hundred and fifty major artists including Aerosmith, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Eminem, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Sheryl Crow, and Puff Daddy. With a 30-year history in the music industry, Mueller believes in exposing new musical talent through the video game format. “The video game is the single strongest vehicle for breaking new music today. If you want your music heard, you have to get it in front of the audience. Today, there are millions of music loving people playing games.” [PRWEB May 27, 2004]

Will Microsoft's Xbox Hit the Spot?

Will Microsoft's Xbox Hit the Spot? 03/20/2003 01:05 PM
Don't look now, but here comes Microsoft with its boldest attempt yet to blast into your living room -- with your teen as its biggest advocate. The software giant is pulling out all the stops to dominate a new market: online gaming via its Xbox video-game console. Xbox is a microcosm of Microsoft's dot-Net strategy.

The Future of Microsoft's Xbox

The Future of Microsoft's Xbox 06/08/2004 10:40 AM
To the gaming community, the Microsoft Xbox console has a lot to offer and promises even more in the future. But the company has not been able to get worldwide sales, especially Japanese sales, to the levels it hoped for. Depending on whose report you read, the Sony PlayStation is outselling the Xbox at a 4 to 1 pace, and that's an optimistic ratio. The Xbox has become the number-two platform in the USA, ahead of the Nintendo GameCube, but it still has not been popular enough to become a profit center for Microsoft. All this has recently been compounded by Microsoft's decision to cancel or delay the release of its online game True Fantasy Live Online.

Sunday's most-played Xbox Live game was "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3" with 24,478 gamers signing in for battle. At one point, 6,731 gamers played the game simultaneously.

Microsoft hopeful for Xbox Live

Microsoft hopeful for Xbox Live 01/09/2004 09:57 PM
During his keynote speech at the Digital Games Conference in Las Vegas, the head of the Xbox division, Robbie Bach, stated his hopes for the Live service to collect its millionth customer this June. The service notched up around a million game sessions a day over the 5-day Christmas period, a really rather healthy number especially when compared to the average of 1.5 million sessions a week.

Xbox Live Running Out Of GamerTags?

Xbox Live Running Out Of GamerTags? 07/08/2004 08:37 AM
Emails being sent to gamers with similar GamerTags. A blurb over at Boomtown seems to hint that Xbox Live is running into problems with similar GamerTags, and even going to the point of asking gamers to change them. "As a loyal Xbox Live subscriber since the open public beta I thought my GamerTag was pretty safe. I was surprised, then, to receive an e-mail from Microsoft this morning telling me that my GamerTag was very similar to someone else’s and would I mind changing it. Apparently I have ten days to change it and I can claim a free copy of Project Gotham Racing 2 for doing so. It seems that this e-mail has gone out to any subscribers with similar GamerTags to other subscribers." -Jonathan Lane (LordDestroyer).
