joke. They've also introduced Google gulp!, a beta version of their

Getting in the Google Image Engine
01/14/2003 07:20 AMSurvey of tips and techniques for getting listed in the Google image
engine.
Google Adds Image Ads
Google Adds Image Ads
05/12/2004 06:54 PMOne of the things that people always like about Google's advertising
was that they stuck by their plan to do only non-intrusive,
non-annoying, non-flashy text ads that got to the point. Well, it
looks like they've had enough of that.
Search
Engine Journal notes that
Google is now
adding traditional image ads to their ad inventory. For now, it
appears that these won't be used on search results, but only on
content pages with Google contextual advertising. This suggests that
the standard Google ad box has become so universal that (as expected)
most people have learned to ignore it completely, so it was time for
Google to try something different (which, strangely enough, seems a
lot like what others have been offering for ages).

to advertisers who ignore the email campaign and continue to sponsor
shows that CleanTV deems offensive? -
"If an advertiser
continues to support offensive advertising, they will be targeted for
local and national boycott. On the local level, newspapers are
notified of the boycott and CleanTV volunteers will demonstrate at the
advertiser's place of business until the advertiser decides to rescind

Google expands access to Gmail
03/17/2005 03:27 AMOK, I may not have been totally on target when I said how Google would
bring Gmail forward…but I was close. Google has decided to
randomly offer Gmail accounts via Google. I think that this stays true
to the idea of keeping the ‘hype alive’ as it makes sure
that people will use Google in order to gain an account….

"We just started offering Gmail accounts to a randomly selected sample

Google.com to grow Gmail. Based on the success of this one-in-20
scope, we'll be ramping it up over the next couple of weeks."

Google changes policy on Gmail Invites
07/02/2004 03:08 AMApparently Google is not real happy with the way some people have
been selling and swapping Gmail invites. Specifically banning sales
and swaps. That being said the third round Gmail Invite contest I was
going to have is not going to be held. Instead as I have invites
available I will reward people that I feel ad value to the sites
through good commenting. The wording of the changes in policy do not
specifically ban the type of contest we where having but I do not want
to jeopardize my account and any that we have given out. [ZDNet]
