GarageBand
07/06/2004 04:56 PM
Tune-Up for GarageBand is a collection of over 500 loops exclusively created in Apple Loop format for use in GarageBand. Unlike many other loop producers we offer a variety of loops, this is probably the nearest thing out there to Apple's own Jam Pack. We want to give users the ability to create whole tracks using our loops rather than just giving them a disc full of drums. Tune-Up Pack 1 is available at just $34.99 including delivery worldwide....an absolute bargain!

British developer TuneMedia has released Tune-Up Pack 1, a library of more than 500 music loops offered in Apple Loop format for use in GarageBand. They were recorded in stereo at 44kHz and come in categories that run the gamut from piano groove to synth melody to space bass and more. TuneMedia's Web site features 10 free demo loops that you can download and use, along with a song in MP3 format that was created completely with Tune-Up loops. Tune-Up Pack 1 is US$34.99 and system requirements call for a G3 or better processor running at 700Mhz or faster, 700MB free hard drive space and a copy of GarageBand or any application compatible with the Apple Loop format.

Cool tune: Not Going Alone

Cool tune: Not Going Alone 01/26/2004 04:12 PM
Paul Kimball (a good friend from my college days) posted his first GarageBand composition, Not Going Alone.

I first heard it last night, and it’s still in my head this morning. It’s more demo than radio-ready, of course, but the feel of it comes through with the everyman guitar sound and especially the melody and harmonies and Paul’s singing.

Rocking xmas tune

Rocking xmas tune 12/12/2003 10:03 PM

While browsing through hours of free music (with an intent to buy) at Magnatune, I came across the electro sitar stylings of Anup. He's got that whole "sitars over beats" thing down that all the club kids are nuts for these days. But for a seasonal gem, listen to his take on Jingle Bells (mp3).

Listening to the song makes me want to go door-to-door in my neighborhood and perform Bollywood musicals to it.
