Truckstop.net Chases Big Contracts

Truckstop.net Chases Big Contracts 06/28/2004 04:30 PM
Truckstop.net offered Landstar a special program that offers Landstar drivers a discounted subscription rate: Trucking company Landstar has thousands of drivers who can now sign up to use Truckstop.net hotspots at a discount. The drivers can use the networks to email delivery confirmations and look for new loads on Landstar's board. But, it's a smart idea for Truckstop.net to go after large trucking companies or other organizations that have workers who are on the highways often as a way to load its network. Truckstop.net currently has just over 400 hotspots and has plans for 3,000....

Iraqi Reconstruction Contracts

Iraqi Reconstruction Contracts 12/09/2003 09:44 PM
Iraq Reconstruction Contracts Limited To Coalition Countries In a Determination & Findings[pdf] document dated Dec. 5, the Administration outlines why it is "essential" to national security to limit New-Texas reconstruction contracts to companies based in pro-iraq-war countries. As expected, the terrorist-led corporations of Canada, Germany, France, Russian and China are not allowed to bid. (Despite years of previous work in Iraq for many of these companies). US Army to Rebid Halliburton Contracts
Looks like Halliburton's about to lose its sweetheart deal as the US Army looks to rebidthe contracts.
"Pentagon auditors last month "strongly" urged the Army to withhold paying 15 percent of Halliburton's bills in Iraq, saying the company had not provided enough details to support at least $1.82 billion out of $4.3 billion of logistical work."
