Elway, Sanders to Lead New Hall Class
(AP)

AP - John Elway fearlessly stared down opponents and the clock in the final minutes of games. Yet the prospect of election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame made him sweat. Barry Sanders calmly slinked his way around and through tacklers nearly twice his size. But the possibility of being chosen for the Canton shrine got Sanders all nervous.

AT&T Wireless OGO Officially Announced 09/27/2004 09:04 AM

Alright, we're finally good to OGO, I guess. Not much in the official press release that we didn't already know, but it's good to get official word of the pricing and what not. Looks like there's no IMAP email connectivity - that's a downer - although they mention email from "other select Internet Service Providers," including the Yahoo!, MSN, and AOL acoounts (sadly, no Gmail).

Price is set at $130 with a $30 rebate. Full release after the jump.

mpx_21.jpgIt looks like the long, storied journey of the Motorola MPx is sputtering to a halt. Moto officially cancelled any future launches of the device today, despite an initial toe in the water in Malaysia. It was a great idea, but its implementation was funky—too big, awkward to use, and underpowered. Sorry, Tycho!

We were talking about the MPx over a yea r ago. Now where's that RAZR version of the MPx, Moto?

Gnomedex 4 Officially Announced 02/12/2004 10:20 PM
They said Lockergnome couldn't do it again. However, we still went ahead and booked a casino in Lake Tahoe from September 30th to October 3rd for the fourth-annual Gnomedex tech conference. This time around, we set up a THREE DAY OPEN BAR - and pre-registration is still $99! How much alcohol can you down in 72 hours? Let's not forget about the whole "technology" thing, either. We'll still have plenty of information for you to download into your soaked little skull. That, and like every respectable host, we won't start activities at the butt crack of dawn. Details will continue to roll in, but I can already see that we'll (ONCE AGAIN) give other conventions a run for their money (and value)....

Is the Microsoft Pipeline Now Officially
Unblocked?
08/18/2004 04:39 PM
Microsoft's top brass has become fond of saying that Microsoft's got a lot of innovative new products in the pipeline. But what they haven't admitted is that their pipeline' has been in serious need of some Roto-Rooting for more than a year. In recent months, whenever Microsoft was running late with a product, officials blamed Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and/or tougher internal security criteria in general. So now that SP2 is officially out (it was released to manufacturing August 6), can we expect the slip-date blame-game to become a thing of the past? Hardly.

20d_frontview-001.jpg image

Okay! Here's that proper announcement from Canon we were expecting about the EOS 20D. The 8-megapixel digital SLR definitely ups the ante in the whole Canon/Nikon game. I can't wait to see some proper reviews.

The EOS 20D wasn't the only Canon announced, though, with the seven-megapixel G6, five-megapixel A95, and three-megapixel A400 all showing up in one form or another, too. There are reviews of almost all of the cameras (except the 20D, of course) out today, and Photography Blog has a nice collection of links that they'll keep adding to throughout the day if you'd like to toss them some links.

Oh, and even thought DPReview has been told not to post sample images of the D20, Canon Japan has three sample shots you can chew on for now. The fruit and ice one made me giggle a little.
