Microsoft is to extend its business intelligence (BI) platform by acquiring ActiveViews, a privately held company based in Utah. ActiveViews provides an ad hoc reporting system that integrates with Microsoft .Net and SQL Server Reporting Services to allow users to access and manipulate complex corporate data.
