NewsFactor - IBM (NYSE: IBM) has launched software enabling server systems to operate as mainframes, touting its virtualization engine as a tool to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs. The software is embedded into IBM hardware and allows computer systems essentially to 'clone' themselves.
