Vodafone's Exclusive Sharp GX30 Review 04/28/2004 07:14 AM

The latest model in Sharp's GX phone line, the GX30, hasn't changed much on the outside, but brings a bucketload of features on the inside, including Bluetooth, an SD/MMC slot, and a 1.1-megapixel camera. As nice as the little clamshell is, don't get your hopes up if you're in the...

sharp_902_closed.jpg imageHigher megapixel cameraphones are moving West, as Vodafone announces the Sharp V902sh as part of its UK 3G lineup, a 2.02-megapixel phone with optical zoom. Could that mean the US could see a 2-megapixel handset by the end of the year? I'm not betting on it.

Sirius Stream Jockey, Then A Sharp Turn
Into a Delphi XM Roady 2 Review

Sirius has a new model of their satellite radio hardware, the Stream Jockey [pictured right, because I keep going right to left for some reason]. Also known as the XACT XTR Plug & Play Satellite Receiver, the $100 device can be outfitted with a universal docking station for another $60, or desperate docking stations for the car and home can be thrown in for $50 apiece. It's clear that the Stream Jockey is Sirius's answer to the Delphi XM Roady 2, which I just so happen to have been testing for the last month or so.

So let that be my heavy-handed segue into my experiences with the Roady 2, after the jump.

Apple makes a terrfic, but imperfect and not-quite-revolutionary, product, and then Steve Jobs' reality-distortion field causes folks to forget that A) Apple didn't invent the category that the product falls into; and B) the product isn't necessarily the best in its class simply because it hails from Cupertino. Neowin EXCLUSIVE : Doom 3 Review

Neowin EXCLUSIVE : Doom 3 Review 08/09/2004 04:35 PM
This year, if not this century's most awaited game, is soon to be released to the masses. Neowin has managed to grab a copy and do a review of it, just for you, our very very special members :)

Written by our very talented Luis Mercado (aka [sanctified]), the review is an in-depth look at all aspects of the game. The First Person Shoot 'em up, which has taken ID Software many years to get ready for release, is broken down into pieces and given a thorough going over. Luis has taken the time to compare most of the elements to its main competitors in each respective field - game play, audio, textures, etc.

Packed with screenshots and the insight of a true gamer, you can get the review below, exclusive to Neowin.

Vodafone's New Euro/Aussie BlackBerry

09/16/2004 07:27 AM

voda_blackberry.jpg imageSeems that the 7100t isn't the only new BlackBerry phone coming from RIM, as Vodafone has announced the exclusive distribution of the 7100v, an even more traditionally shaped handset that appears to be essentially a re-packaged version of the 7100t. With the same funky QWERTY keyboard, the 7100v supports a much wider range of languages in its character recognition software SureType, including English, French, German, Italian and Spanish (hopefully those will be available for download to the 7100t here in the States).

Expect to see the 7100v in Europe and Australia starting in October.
