Charlie Daniels' anti-anti-war rant

Charlie Daniels' anti-anti-war rant

Charlie Daniels' anti-anti-war rant 03/15/2003 10:13 PM

Musician Charlie Daniels is disgusted by Hollywood types who oppose Bush's plan to invade Iraq.

You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm I’ve ever had the displeasure to hear about.

Sean Penn, you’re a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, ”fact finding trip“ to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn’t have the stomach for war.

You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and won’t lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby.

Freedom of choice you say?

Anti-Facism 01/07/2005 04:18 AM
Need the antidote to the current administration? 133 years ago, Mikhail Bakunin laid the groundwork for anarchism as a rational political system in his seminal work God and the State. Strongly critical of the dehumanizing effects of religion, Bakunin famously paraphrased Voltaire when he proclaimed, "if God really existed, it would be necessary to abolish him." If you can't make hide nor hair of the President's words, perhaps Bakunin's rationalism is what you're looking for.

Anti-Static Pen 03/22/2005 04:46 PM

static_pen.jpg imageThose of us who dabble inside of their PCs have surely, at one time, concerned themselves with static electricity. Sure you can take some precautions like getting one of those retarded looking wrist things or touching some metal object. But why would you want to do that when you can now spend $29 on a "Static Zapper Pen?" When I first read the product name, I thought the pen could actually zap people (like a pen tazer), but I shed a tear to learn that it is for preventing static shocks.

Anti-Americanism

Anti-Americanism 09/15/2004 05:19 PM
The World's Most Dangerous Ideas: U.S. and European goals on most issues are quite similar. Both want a peaceful world free from terror, with open trade, growing freedom, and civilized codes of conduct. A Europe that charts its own course just to mark its differences from the United States threatens to fracture global efforts—whether on trade, proliferation, or the Middle East. Europe is too disunited to achieve its goals without the United States; it can only ensure that America’s plans don’t succeed. The result will be a world that muddles along, with the constant danger that unattended problems will flare up disastrously. Instead of win-win, it will be lose-lose—for Europe, for the United States, and for the world.

Anti-Spammers Don't Need CAN-SPAM

Anti-Spammers Don't Need CAN-SPAM 09/25/2004 12:00 AM
While the CAN-SPAM act was meant to stop spam, it obviously hasn't yet. Although it's pretty easy to point out some of CAN-SPAM's flaws, it's perhaps better that some anti-spam activists are actually taking spammers to court -- though mostly citing pre-existing laws regarding false advertising or deception. Armed with these older and easier-to-understand laws, the Informal Coalition of Private Anti-spam Litigants (ICPAL) and the Institute for Spam and Internet Public Policy (ISIPP) have helped some businesses and devout anti-spammers take some sleazy mass emailers to court and win a few sizable monetary judgments. Still, the strategy for these anti-spammers is to remain informal but organized, so that spammers can't retaliate. However, these anti-spammers also say they're not in it for the money, and some have refused to settle out of court on principle. Given that some of the spammers are hard to actually find, much less extract damages from, it looks like these vigilante organizations may remain small and informal until perhaps some bounties are put out on spammers heads.

Easy Come, Easy Go: Antigua Loses To US

Easy Come, Easy Go: Antigua Loses To US
Over Gambling
04/07/2005 05:39 PM
Antigua has been battling the US for some time over the US's ban on online gambling. For many years, Antigua-based online casinos have run into problems with US laws. Two years ago, they went to the WTO claiming that the US ban on online gambling was a violation of a fair trade agreement the two nations had signed. It took the WTO almost exactly one year to point out that Antig ua was probably right. Of course, that wasn't acceptable for politicians who seem to think gambling is pure evil (except, of course, when it contributes to local tax coffers) -- so, while they planned to ignore the ruling completely (we're the US, we don't follow international rulings unless we agree with them), they did file an appeal, just for fun. It turns out that appeal worked, and the WTO has changed its mind, saying that banning gambling is a "moral issue," and therefore not subject to the fair trade agreement the two nations signed. So, sorry for all you online gambling addicts in the US, but you're back to breaking the law again.

It's not about the functionality itself, really, just the integration of fun little software tricks into a phone that Just Work.

You can scribble on pictures you take with its integrated camera, too.
