Workshop on Web Applications and Compound Documents held in San Jose
CA, USA on 1-2 June. All of the 43 position papers are publicly
available. The workshop concluded that W3C should consider starting
work on a specification that combines W3C document formats for the
mobile computing market, and should produce a roadmap for future work
in Web applications. W3C thanks host Adobe Systems and all 60

(AOPR), an application that allows business managers, information
technology support administrators, and law enforcement officials to
gain access to Microsoft(R) Office(R) password-protected documents,
that have been accidentally or purposefully password protected. New
product combines the latest and the most advanced cryptanalysis
algorithms developed by Elcomsoft's research department. AOPR is
capable of instantly recovering passwords for a wide range of
Microsoft's business and office applications, including all components
of MS Office, from the very first DOS versions to Office 2003
programs, including the ones for Windows, Mac, Pocket PC and localized
versions. Over 30 different types of password encryption methods are

Washington, DC) on 4-5 November. Participants will discuss the

plug-in, provides for the creation, directed
editing, and serialization of documents such as
XHTML, XForms, XML Events, Scalable Vector
Graphics (SVG), VoiceXML, and MathML. It uses
Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) models to define
the semantics of constructing documents spanning
one or more namespace. Those semantics include the
order and placement of elements, the allowable
