Wired
peers into the future with its list of ten gadgets they'd like to see
by the year 2013, among them an iPhone from Apple that combines a PDA,
wireless Internet, mini iPod, and phone into a wearable arm band; ear
plugs that only filter out sounds you don't want to hear; and
enormous, flexible, and superthin light-emitting-polymer displays.

While Joel's getting settled at
CES—and I should remind Joel right now that the Vegas Strip
hookers are actually not an official part of CES—let's
catch up on bits of the morning news:
· What Apple won't ever, ever give you: the iPhone.
· What you can actually get for your Apple products: iPod
gadgets, including iBoom, iBoost, and the memorably named iTop
Button Relocator.
· Gadgets enter the age of design before tech. [Splitting the Adam]
· Video on demand inches closer to usefulness: Cinema Now makes deal with MSN TV.

MobileTracker suggests the Motorola V635
may be the fabled iPhone
01/04/2005 02:22 AMWith some very sound reasoning, MobileTracker points out that what
many Mac rumor sites have been predicting as an Apple designed
cellular phone, is more likely to be an iTunes enabled phone by
Apple's partner in this venture, Motorola. The reporter points to the
short shelf life of mobile phones as his main reason for predicting
this outcome and offers the expandable Motorola V635 as the most
likely candidate for accepting Apple's music features.
