Google Text Ads on Other Sites 03/13/2003 10:24 AM
Google's Content-Targeted text ads (the text ads that appear when you search) are now available on other sites, including blogspot (now that they host it). If your site receives more than 20 million page views a month, you could run Google text ads on it too. If you've purchased Google Text Ads, they'll show up on other sites automatically....

Google Manually Adjusting Sites 09/23/2004 10:50 AM
We were suprised at this long indepth thread on sites being manually removed or adjusted within the index. It was surprising because so many new webmasters said they felt that Google did not do it at all. Some where along the line, wires got crossed and mixed messages were sent. This thread straightens them out in classic WebmasterWorld fashion.

Porn Sites Using Blogspot To Game Google

Porn Sites Using Blogspot To Game Google 08/03/2004 12:32 PM
I think the only thing that's really all that noteworthy about this story is that it didn't happen sooner. In fact, it probably did happen sooner, but the press is just catching on. For quite some time now, people have realized that blogs tend to get higher Page Rank in Google due to their frequently updated nature, and tendency for cross-linking, so a group of porn sites have gotten together and are using bogus Blogspot blogs to boost the Page Rank of their own porn sites. Of course, as the article points out, this will now get to be much more popular, search engines will adjust and it will become useless again.

Sporadic reports coming in of a brewing problem. Various sites are being removed without webmaster action from Google. They all are getting the standard "you site has been removed" email from Google. We have never seen this particular situation before. We don't know if it is an isolated incident, or if someone has indeed figured out a way to get people removed from the index (such as a competitor).

Be hzti (Dishonour) a play by sikh author Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti has been dropped because of violent protests from members of the birmingham sikh community.

As an aside at least enoch was wrong.

Once again folks - in the right corner it's religion , erm.. running round in circles like a scared fool its freedom of expression.

The Continental Features comics syndicate has announced that it will be dropping Doonesbury because the strip is "too controversial" (lately, Trudeau has been using the strip to criticise the Iraq War and Fox News).
The Continental head said he doesn't know exactly when "Doonesbury" will leave the package; he's currently polling clients to see if they want to replace it with "Agnes," "Get Fuzzy," "Pickles," "Zits," or another comic.
